Racial Justice Task Force open call
The Racial Justice Task Force (RJTF) is looking for passionate young greens of colour to join our family and our mission for racial justice in FYEG, the Greens, Europe, and beyond!
Who we are:
The RJTF is not just a working group, it has grown to become a community and family of young greens of colour driven by a common mission:
To platform the voices of racialised and ethnic-minoritised youth in politics,
To challenge the status quo in FYEG and beyond, and
To advocate for racial justice and meaningful inclusion in FYEG and beyond.
We are guided by our core values of decoloniality, justice, community, care, and spirituality, and we are motivated in developing a safe space for healing, empowerment, and collective learning and action.
Why you should join the RJTF:
The RJTF offers both a space and a community of youth of colour to find reprieve and support. At the same time, we work actively towards an antiracist and racially just FYEG, Greens, and Europe.
As a member, you would get to:
Be a part of an inclusive and supportive community of youth of colour;
Work together to build a coalition and community of antiracism activists and youth of colour;
Challenge and hold FYEG accountable on matters of racial justice and work on FYEG’s diversity and inclusion policies;
Push for the voices of racialised and ethnic-minoritised youth to be heard, through working on social media outputs, resolutions, statements, articles, and more;
Take part in and contribute to the development of European antiracism civil society, through collaborating with other antiracism organisations, taking part in (international) events, organising initiatives, and more.
Who you should be:
Although anyone can apply, the RJTF is intended to be a space for youth who identify with having been racialised or ethnic-minoritised to foster a safe space for fellow youth of colour.
You should be:
Affiliated with the (European) Green family in some way presently or in the past or aligned with RJTF’s and FYEG’s values;
Committed to RJTF’s mission of racial justice and motivated to work together to strive for it;
Reliable and accountable. The RJTF meets for one hour weekly. You are not expected to attend every week, but we hope that if you want to join, you’re willing to invest your time with us!
You will be fully supported by FYEG Executive Committee Member Srish as EC Coordinator, and Kel Nkondock and Nefertiti Bikin-kita as Working Group Coordinators.
