Racial justice task force.

Who we are?

The Racial Justice Task Force (RJTF) is not just a working group, it has grown to become a community and family of young greens of colour driven by a common mission:

  • To platform the voices of racialised and ethnic-minoritised youth in politics,

  • To challenge the status quo in FYEG and beyond, and

  • To advocate for racial justice and meaningful inclusion in FYEG and beyond.

We are guided by our core values of decoloniality, justice, community, care, and spirituality, and we are motivated in developing a safe space for healing, empowerment, collective learning, and action.

What is

racial justice?

Racial justice seeks to eradicate racial injustice.

It seeks to address and look at hierarchies that have disadvantaged racialised people, looking at our histories, systems, structure, and institutions. The goal is to readjust and address the disparities this has created for a just and equitable society.

“Racial equity is about applying justice and a little bit of common sense to a system that’s been out of balance.  When a system is out of balance, people of color feel the impacts most acutely, but, to be clear, an imbalanced system makes all of us pay.”
— ~ Glenn Harris, President, Race Forward and Publisher, Colorlines
