European Train Tour

FYEG is embarking on a European—wait for it—Train—wait for it—Tour!

One of the most valuable rights given to us as citizens is the right to vote. It grants us the power to determine who should represent our vision of the future—a future that, in these days, is open to question. That's why, in 2024, we want to promote getting the young vote out, encouraging the active participation of young people in the European elections, or fostering their interest in the EU. It’s time those who are being deprived of their future take back what’s theirs! We will promote the youth message and demands identified in the course of our work. Our journey will take us to every corner of Europe, supported by our Member Organisations and friends from all around the continent.

The European Train Tour is the second activity of FYEG’s Your Future Starts Today project, supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe, the Greens/EFA, and the European Green Party.

The Green Rave

Join The Green Rave, FYEG's inaugural international event in 2024! Through the exchange of best practices and experiences, featuring the engagement of experienced politicians and experts, we are committed to enhancing the strategies of young green campaigners for 2024 and beyond.

Day 1:

Commencing with a day-long political festival, this event is not limited to our selected participants. We will invite approximately 200 external guests to partake in the festivities, celebrating the inauguration of the European Train Tour. The day's activities will centre on the presentation of initiatives and narratives crafted by the European Green youth.

Days 2 and 3:

As the event progresses into its closed phase, our focus will intensify on equipping our selected participants, young community leaders and campaigners, with the necessary tools to amplify their efforts in mobilising communities for the forthcoming European elections. The activities during these days will facilitate knowledge exchange and strategic planning through innovative non-formal education methods.

The Green Rave is scheduled to take place in Rome, Italy, from March 1 to 3, 2024.

The participant call is CLOSED. The selection results will be announced in the third week of January 2024.

The Green Rave is the first activity of FYEG’s Your Future Starts Today project, supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe, the Greens/EFA, and the European Green Party.

Study Sessions: GREEN PERSPECTIVE ON EUROPEAN SECURITY

Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) and Cooperation and Development Network (CDN) are excited to announce the study session titled "Green Perspective on European Security." This collaborative session will take place in Budapest from the 23rd to the 28th of October.

The study session "Green Perspective on European Security" aims to foster a common understanding and reevaluation of security in light of new global challenges. Guided by democratic values, human rights, and the rule of law, this session will provide a platform for approximately 40 young Europeans from diverse backgrounds to engage in intercultural dialogue.

We will achieve this by meeting the following objectives:

  1. Creating an intercultural dialogue between youth from different European countries by providing a space to discuss the concept of security and ways to ensure it;

  2. Deepening the participants' understanding of the current state of affairs of security in Europe;

  3. Analysing the concept of security at the intersection of diverse societal factors, exploring their interrelationships effects of the policy decisions on public security;

  4. Assessing the existing approaches to the concept of security and: their strengths and weaknesses.

FYEG aims to bring together a diverse group of young people who will help create a green narrative for young campaigners across Europe - from Dublin to Tbilisi, from Oslo to Nicosia.

Independence Days - Congress of Young Europeans

The Heinrich Böll Foundation, Green European Foundation and the Young European Greens (FYEG), host the the 8th Congress of Young Europeans, taking place in Thessaloniki, Greece.

At the four-day Congress, selected participants from all over Europe will have a chance to come together in this vibrant and culturally rich city to work together, voice their concerns and put forward their own solutions for a more just Europe, ahead of the 2024 European elections.

The main theme of this year’s Congress of Young Europeans is independent living: a defining struggle and battle of this generation that ranges from chasing for basic  care and mental health to affordable housing, from gender rights and to good working conditions, from equality all the way to political underrepresentation. A young person has the right to all of these things, to afford building a life for themselves, independently.

The Congress, entitled “Independence Days” will focus on the role of youth in shaping their future in Europe. As a participant, you will reflect on widespread reality for young people all over Europe, explore the interlinking challenges across different regions, and propose forward-thinking solutions that reflect your needs in the political debate.

Summer Camp 2023

Applications closed on the 23rd of April.

The summer camp ‘Writing the Green Stories’, an international activity that will take place in Våxtorp, Sweden from 15 to 20 July 2023 (arrival on 14 July morning, departure on 21 July).

The summer camp will take place over 6 days. The programme created by the Preparatory and Campaign teams, with special contributions of experts and trainers, will focus on political narrative building – for the 2024 European elections and beyond!

We will be trained in the basics of campaigning and how to frame complex issues through clear messages and powerful stories. We will explore the most prominent topics in the present European debate – security, democratic processes, climate crisis and more. Following this narrative-based approach, participants will be guided by two experts to develop the foundational document that outlines the winning story and messages to influence policy at election time as a young Green activist. The concrete objectives are to:

  1. Explore prominent political narratives.

  2. Equip participants with practical skills in the context of building political narratives and spreading the Young Green message.

  3. Build a common European green message and narrative, with a specific focus towards national elections in 2023 and 2024, and the European elections in 2024.

FYEG aims to bring together a diverse group of young people who will help create a green narrative for young campaigners across Europe - from Dublin to Tbilisi, from Oslo to Nicosia.
