Call for Participants - The Green Rave

The Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) announces an open call for participants for The Green Rave, an international activity that will take place in Rome, Italy from 1 to 3 March 2024 (arrival 29 February in the evening, departure 4 March in the morning).

The Green Rave, spanning three days, will bring together 70 young activists from across Europe. The primary objective of this event is to empower young individuals to mobilise others and influence the discourse surrounding the 2024 European elections. We intend to enhance the strategies of these young campaigners through the exchange of best practices and experiences, with the involvement of experienced politicians and experts.

Together, with you, we will officially launch our campaign for the European Union Elections 2024.

The concrete objectives are to:

- Organise a one-day public community-building event between 200 external participants and the young community leaders to present the green narrative and the young candidates, launching the European Train Tour;

- Consolidate and refine the young campaigners' strategies for successful and sustainable campaigns in 2024 and beyond through exchange of good practices and experiences, also with experienced politicians and experts.

FYEG aims to bring together a diverse group of young people who will help refine the young campaigners' strategies for successful and sustainable campaigns in 2024 and beyond across Europe - from Dublin to Tbilisi, from Oslo to Nicosia. To do this, we need you. Our diverse and unique lived experiences, perspectives, and beliefs are what make us green. Help us define what Europe's future should look like and what we should do to get there.

Participants: We are looking for 70 young people between 15-35 years old, residing in one of the Council of Europe member states, Belarus, Russia and Kosovo*. We welcome applications reflecting diversity in all forms and we encourage applications from those who identify as women*, LGBTQIA+, POC, or with a disability or other health impairment.

Language: The main language of this activity will be English, but not being comfortable interacting in English should not stop you from applying. We are sure you speak English better than you think!

Costs: Your costs of participation in the event - including lodging (accommodation in multi-bed rooms, vegan food), visa - will be fully covered by the organisers. Additionally, travel costs will be covered up to a given amount based on actual travel costs from your place of residence to Italy. Participants will be asked to combine the most economic and environmentally friendly way of travelling (lowest price + travel time + CO2 emissions).

Participation fee: In exchange, FYEG asks you to contribute with a participation fee depending on your country of residence and your means, as follows:

Category 1 (North and West region countries): EUR 70 (base fee) or 100 (solidarity fee)

Category 2 (South and Centre region countries): EUR 50 (base fee) or 80 (solidarity fee)

Category 3 (East region countries): EUR 30 (base fee) or 50 (solidarity fee)

An overview of the categories for each country is available HERE

Please assess whether you would like to pay the base or the solidarity fee based on your financial situation. The solidarity fee is in place for applicants who have the means to contribute a bit more in solidarity with others. Applicants for whom paying the fee is an obstacle for participation should still apply. FYEG will try to find a solution together with the applicant when the selection is finalised.

The call is CLOSED. The selection results will be announced in the third week of January 2024.

IMPORTANT: Once you have registered your interest, you will be emailed the official application form, which you must complete by midnight on 31 December 2023 to finalise your application. The selection results will be shared in the third week of January.

The Green Rave is the first activity of FYEG’s Your Future Starts Today project, supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe, the Greens/EFA, and the European Green Party, and was co-funded by the European Union.
