14:00 - 15:00: YOU are the EU - right? (ENG)
Join us for an interactive session where we explore your connection to the European Union and how you can shape its politics as a young person. We'll start with a warm-up to discuss your sense of identity and representation within Europe and France. Then, we'll dive into how individuals, especially young activists, can influence EU decisions through activism, lobbying, and political engagement - but most of all, their civic participation. What’s the weight of your vote? Let’s discuss it!
The workshop will be run by Emil Schenkyr.
15:00 - 16:00: L’UE défend les droits de l’homme, n’est-ce pas ? La migration à une époque de grande politique (FR/ENG)/The EU stands on human rights - right? Migration in times of big politics (FR/ENG)
The session will explore the discussion around migration in the Marseille region and beyond. It will also examine how migration is addressed in the Netherlands and Germany, and its significance in the context of the upcoming EU elections - globally and locally. Additionally, the potential role of the EU as a major human rights actor in the Mediterranean will be discussed, by examining past actions and contemporary narratives on migration. Delving into the feasibility of developing a migrant reception space and its environmental impact, perspectives from the Greens and young candidates will be explored. This interactive and participatory session is particularly relevant ahead of the EU elections, providing a platform for young people to exchange ideas and perspectives on this crucial topic.
