Call for volunteers: COP29 Digital Campaign Task Force

The Young European Greens are looking for volunteers to join the COP29 Digital Campaign Task Force. Together with the Community Officer, the Communications and Campaigns Manager, and 2 members of the Executive Committee, you will work on drafting and implementing a digital campaign around COP29 in the months of October and November 2024.

At FYEG, we leverage digital campaigning to empower people with the tools they need to take collective action and create meaningful change on the issues that matter most in Europe. To do this, we use Action Network, a super powerful emailing tool that more and more progressive NGOs, movements, and parties are using to be in touch with their supporters. We also get support from professional consultants at ECDA who are experts in the field. If you join this taskforce we will first train you on digital organising and campaigning as well as on how to use the tools.

This task force is a high-energy, results-focused group, assembled just for this mission. It's part of our fresh approach to creating flexible, needs-driven volunteer teams that get things done!

What’s in for you?

  • Expand your network by collaborating with young Greens across Europe

  • Gain hands-on experience in digital campaigning and organising

  • Learn to use Action Network, a powerful tool used by progressive movements across Europe

  • Receive expertise from experienced professionals working at ECDA

  • Build your skills in copywriting, messaging and narrative-framing

  • Get creative coming up with ideas to promote our campaign

  • Contribute to amplifying voices of bold climate activists and make waves around COP29!

What’s expected of you?

  • Active participation in approximately 7 online weekly team meetings to plan tasks and strategise (both before, during and after COP29) - starting from next week!

  • Attendance of the online webinar on digital campaigning with ECDA (date tbc on week of October 21)

  • Full preparation and implementation of the digital campaign

  • A commitment of two months (october and november 2024)

PRACTICALITIES

Please keep in mind that by applying for this position, you will NOT be attending COP29. This is a volunteer role that requires a significant commitment of your time and energy during the campaign. However, the rewards are immeasurable: you’ll get exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the development plans and internal workings of the Young European Greens. You’ll be contributing to a worthy cause while gaining unique insights, building valuable skills, and forming lasting friendships across Europe.

DEADLINE AND APPLICATION

If you're interested in joining our digital campaign taskforce, please express your interest below and then complete part 2 of the application by Sunday, October 13 at Midnight CET. We look forward to hearing from you!
