Call for Racial Justice Task Force Members
Join the Racial Justice Task Force and become a member of a creative, inclusive, safe, and open space of fellow young greens of colour directly engaged with prioritising and improving the diversity, inclusivity and intersectionality of FYEG for young greens of colour!
The context we are in:
A fundamental principle of FYEG is the equality and inclusion of all in a society free of patriarchy, class division, racism, fascism and every other system of oppression. However, FYEG recognises that as we push for this politically, we must also strive for this internally.
FYEG has made monumental strides in making it a truly feminist organisation and we must celebrate this. Yet, we have many more steps to take to expand this inclusivity and intersectionality to young greens of colour, and to make FYEG a truly anti-racist and culturally inclusive organisation.
Youth of colour must have a diverse, inclusive, and accessible space where they feel represented and included in the green movement. Furthermore, the FYEG Inclusion Plan 2019-2021 must be renewed and a new strategy adopted in line with the new Strategy Plan 2022-2025 prioritising this aspect of inclusion.
Why join:
The Racial Justice Task Force is a great opportunity to connect and work with fellow young greens of colour in a creative, inclusive, safe, and open space. You will get to help steer FYEG’s organisational and political direction, learn more about the organisation itself, and develop your organisational and practical skills.
Objectives of the Racial Justice Task Force:
Creating a creative, inclusive, safe, and open space for green youth of colour to come together, ideate, brainstorm, and ultimately work on the diversity, inclusivity and intersectionality of FYEG and beyond.
Organising spaces for POC youth to freely discuss issues of inclusion within FYEG and beyond.
Engaging, motivating, and politically activating POC youth keen on joining the Green movement.
Working on new and improving current FYEG policies on diversity and inclusion, such as a renewal of the Inclusion Plan 2019-2021.
