Call for Campaign and Events Assistant

FYEG is opening a vacancy for a Campaign and Events Assistant starting from mid-April 2023 at the latest (exact date negotiable) in its Brussels office.

What is FYEG or the Federation of Young European Greens?

FYEG is an international NGO registered and operating under Belgian law. We are a dynamic youth organisation that unites Green youth movements, young Green activists and Green political organisations from all over Europe. We organise youth projects, summer camps, international trainings, conferences, campaigns, direct actions and serve as a youth lobbying organisation and a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among European Green. Role description

The Campaign and Events Assistant will support the implementation of the FYEG 2024 EU election campaign and linked activities. They will be mainly responsible for:

1. Coordinating a call for tenders for the design of campaign visuals and materials;

2. Coordinating the design, printing and shipping of branding and campaign materials;

3. Supporting the work of the FYEG Campaign Team with ad-hoc tasks, including liaison with Member Organisations and other stakeholders;

4. Supporting the planning and implementation of a Kick-off event and EU train tour in the beginning of 2024;

5. Supporting FYEG’s communications with ad-hoc tasks. The Campaign and Events Assistant will also support the general functioning and development of FYEG’s activities with ad-hoc tasks.

This is a junior position requiring good organisation and time management skills, responsibility, ability to work independently and often under time pressure. The Campaign and Events Assistant works under the supervision of the Communications and Campaign Manager and reports to the Secretary General and the Executive Committee of FYEG.

Requirements:

  • Basic experience in event organising and logistics;

  • Basic experience in campaigning and communications;

  • Good organisational and time management skills;

  • Good computer skills and digital literacy;

  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative;

  • Proficiency in the English language with strong writing and editing skills;

  • Good understanding of Green values such as ecology, feminism, anti-racism and social justice, and on how to communicate around these values;

  • Good teamwork and personal communication skills;

  • Good people skills and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments;

  • Flexibility to travel and occasionally work during evenings or weekends.

Additional assets:

  • Basic multimedia production skills (photo, graphics, video and audio);

  • Basic design skills and experience, especially for social media;

  • Basic knowledge and experience of using a CRM, especially Action Network;

  • Good understanding of European politics, plus Green politics, movements and activism;

  • Knowledge of other languages;

  • Previous involvement in a local or international youth organisation;

  • Experience of working in the non-profit sector;

  • Previous participation in FYEG events or involvement with FYEG Member Organisations

    • 35 hours/week over 5 days with flexible working hours, core working hours between 10:00 and 16:00 and possibility for one day of telework per week

    • 2365€/month gross salary (approximately 1885€ net, depending on your personal situation)

    • Coverage of daily transport between home and work (amount dependent on the distance and mode of transport)

    • Telework allowance of 125€ per month

    • The selected candidate will be required to be based in Belgium from the start of the contract in April (exact date negotiable).
