Call for Prep Team “Young Green Academy: Social Justice in Theory and Practice”

The Federation of Young European Greens is excited to announce an open call for members of the international Preparatory Team for “Young Green Academy: Social Justice in Theory and Practice.”

This digital international activity will take place across September and December 2025, provisorily 18/09, 25/09, 23/10, and 05/12. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a live meeting in Brussels on 1-2/10/2025 (not mandatory).

About the activity

Through this activity we aim to create novel policy projects, on the topics that are important for FYEG to have a clear stand on and that the contemporary legislature does not cover sufficiently.

The activity will begin with two interactive workshops led by experts and a preparatory team who will support the participants in discovering the realm of policies. Following this, participants will work in groups on their own unique policy proposals, which will be used further in FYEG’s work – for example, in the form of resolutions!

The topics of policies will include (still subject to change):

  • Accessible housing;

  • Food security;

  • Protection of ecosystems;

  • Inclusivity.

This event builds on the understanding of social justice developed during the European Lab: Social Justice, Here and Now, which connects human and animal rights together with environmental justice, for a truly modern and actual understanding of social justice.

The project will take place fully on FYEG’s Discord server, the Green Base!

Join the Preparatory Team!

We are looking for three people to join the international Preparatory Team and co-lead the preparation of "Young Green Academy: Social Justice in Theory in Practice" with the full support of FYEG’s Project and Programme Manager and a member of FYEG’s Executive Committee.

Your Responsibilities

  • Attend the live prep team meeting in Brussels on 05/12 - 06/12/2025 (one day and a half working days, arrival Friday morning/noon, departure Saturday evening/Sunday morning).

  • Potentially (not mandatory) attend a workshop in Brussels on 1-2/10/2025.

  • Participate actively in weekly online meetings, research, and meeting design starting in September 2025, with one meeting in the week of 11-15/08.

  • Prepare and implement the digital programme, including designing training sessions and producing materials.

  • Invite and communicate with guest speakers in line with the project’s aims.

  • Handle practicalities and ensure participants’ well-being throughout the activities.

  • Support in finalising deliverables up to one month after the event.

What You Will Gain

  • The chance to work in a dynamic international environment with young activists and professionals.

  • Opportunity to learn more about policy-making processes and policy making of a Pan-european federation.

  • Professional experience tailored to your goals and interests.

  • Opportunities to enhance your organisational, communication, and training skills.

  • Experience in non-formal education methods and facilitation.

  • Greater familiarity with Green values and FYEG’s work as an international youth organisation.

  • Insights into social justice, policy work, meaningful youth participation, and more.

  • An unforgettable experience!

Important Considerations

Being part of the Preparatory Team requires a significant time commitment. Please ensure that you can take responsibility for planning, designing, preparing, and delivering multiple meetings and workshops.

Be aware that this project will be at times very fast-paced. You will be notified in advance if short deadlines are to be expected, but you need to be able to work quickly.

Practical Information

  • Accommodation, food, workspace, travel, and visa costs will be fully covered within reasonable limits and within Europe.

  • Travel should be economical and environmentally friendly, considering price, travel time, and CO₂ emissions.
