FYEG at the EYE and YO!Fest (CLOSED)

Interested in youth politics? Want to interact with European politicians? Meet people from other youth organisations across Europe? Are you between 16 and 30 years old by June 1st, 2018?

After the success of the first European Youth Event in 2014 and 2016, the European Parliament will again host thousands of young people from all over Europe on 1 - 2 June 2018. The aim is to engage young people in political debates, especially focusing on issues such as environment, peace, democracy and work. FYEG will bring a group of activists from its member, candidate member, and observer organisations. The call is open for EU and non-EU applicants alike.

The event will take place at the European Parliament. Next door the YO!Fest - a youth-led political festival organised by the European Youth Forum - will take place. FYEG is a partner organisation of YO!Fest and will facilitate a workshop on Gender and Climate Change under the motto “The battle against Climate Change is a Feminist Battle”. YO!Fest gathers everything from educational workshops and political debates to cultural exchanges and live music, while also being a great place to meet new people and share experiences.

Some of the topics at this year's EYE are:

  • Young and old: Keeping up with the digital revolution
  • Rich and poor: Calling for a fair share
  • Apart and together: Working out for a stronger Europe
  • Safe and dangerous: Staying alive in turbulent times
  • Local and global: Protecting our planet

The EYE is an excellent place to make politicians, the European Union and the media listen to young people’s voices, to show them our view on Europe and its policies! Sounds like something for you? Then please apply by filling out this form by 1 December 2017, at midnight CET.

The travel costs, accommodation and food will for the duration of the event will be covered by organizers. Reimbursement conditions will be communicated to selected participants and confirmed together, they will slightly vary depending on the region the participant is coming from. Most participants will have to contribute partly to their costs.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact Petra on project.manager@fyeg.org and put zuzana@fyeg.org and paula@fyeg.org in copy.

We are also looking for FYEG activists who want to organise the preparations of the workshop “The battle against Climate Change is a Feminist Battle”. In case you are interested, please send an email to the addresses referred above.
