Call for Project Manager

FYEG is opening a vacancy for a Project Manager starting from mid-January 2020 (exact date negotiable) in its Brussels office.

 

Role description

The Project Manager is responsible for implementing FYEG's Activity Plan and thematic projects. This means taking ownership of several of FYEG's projects throughout each stage of their development: 1. preparing and submitting grant proposals and applications, 2. budgeting and financial management of projects, 3. coordinating preparatory teams of the projects, 4. project-related communication, 5. project logistics, 6. project results; 7. evaluation and reporting. This is a demanding role requiring excellent organisation and time management skills, responsibility, ability to work independently and often under time pressure. The Project Manager reports to the Secretary General and the Executive Committee of FYEG.

FYEG is an international NGO registered and operating under Belgian law. We are a dynamic youth organisation that unites Green youth movements, young Green activists and Green political organisations from all over Europe. We organise youth projects, summer camps, international trainings, conferences, campaigns and serve as a youth lobbying organisation and a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among European Green Youth and activists. Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills; 
  • Excellent people skills, ability to work independently and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments;
  • Experience in project management, grant application and grant reporting (Erasmus+/European Youth Foundation, among others) and organising youth events;
  • Good teamwork and personal communication skills;
  • Good computer skills and digital literacy;
  • Proficiency in English language (written and spoken);
  • Flexibility to travel, available to work during weekends.

Skills that would be an additional asset:

  • Knowledge of other languages, especially French or Dutch;
  • Involvement in or good understanding of Green movement and Green politics;
  • Experience of working in the non-governmental sector;
  • Good knowledge and application of non-formal education methodology.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, conceptualisation, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the long-term educational and capacity-building projects in line with the Strategy and annual Activity Plan of FYEG;
  • Identifying project funding sources and preparing project applications;
  • End-to-end project management (from planning and fundraising to reporting);
  • Keeping regular contact with and coordinating between the stakeholders (such as participants, project partners, providers, amongst others);
  • Travelling for project purposes and working on weekends occasionally required;
  • Support and implementation of other (short-term) projects, statutory events, amongst others.
