Call for Project Assistant (closed)

FYEG is opening a vacancy of PROJECT ASSISTANT. This is a paid full-time position starting from August 18th, in our Brussels office.

Location: Rue du Taciturne 34, 1000 Bruxelles

Working time: full-time

Remuneration: 1800 EUR gross / month + additional benefits for around 240 EUR / month

Contract type: fixed-term contract for 6 months. 

Role description:

The PROJECT ASSISTANT’s main responsibility will be the implementation of FYEG Young Green Recovery - Member Organisations Grants Program. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, several international activities FYEG was planning to hold together with the Greens-EFA group in the European Parliament and the European Green Party have been canceled and replaced by the Young Green Recovery Program. FYEG Member Organisations can apply to organise local projects (activities, campaigns, publications, etc..) together with FYEG, the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament and European Green Party.

The project assistant will be in charge of reviewing the applications, supporting the implementation of the projects, facilitating cooperation between partners, communicating on the projects and reporting to FYEG’s partners.

The project assistant will also assist FYEG Secretary General, FYEG Project Manager and FYEG Office Manager on ad-hoc tasks.

The Project Assistant will be reporting directly to the Secretary General of FYEG and will work closely with FYEG Treasurer, Project Manager and Office Manager.

FYEG is an international NGO registered and operating under Belgian law. We are a dynamic youth organisation that unites Green youth movements, young Green activists and Green political organisations from all over Europe. We organise youth projects, summer camps, international trainings, conferences, campaigns and serve as a youth lobbying organisation and a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among European Green Youth and activists. Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Excellent people skills, ability to work independently and the ability to work in multi-cultural teams and environments;
  • Good teamwork and personal communication skills;
  • Good computer skills and digital literacy;
  • Experience in project reporting, administrative or financial work,
  • Ability to work independently and good organization of one's work,
  • Fluency in English language (both written and spoken).

Skills that would be additional asset:

  • Knowledge of Green movement and Green politics,
  • Experience in finances of a non-governmental organization,
  • Project management skills, experience in project reporting,
  • Experience in fundraising,
  • Additional language skills and communication/design skills.
