The Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament is a political group made up of Green, Pirate and Independent MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) as well as MEPs from parties representing stateless nations and disadvantaged minorities. It advocates and campaigns for political change, and serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among Young Green activists. More at: www.fyeg.org.

The internship and working hours are shared evenly between the FYEG office and the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament. The work will consist of 1) assisting a member of staff of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament, 2) assisting the FYEG Office, 3) liaising between the Greens/EFA group and FYEG office.

The intern will work under the joint supervision of a Group staff member and FYEG’s Project Manager. They will be involved in organising and implementing FYEG’s events and projects: mainly the 2022 annual work plan focused on Mental Health and the member organisations training program. They will support the Greens/EFA campaigns and outreach unit, notably on the Group’s migration campaign.

Equal opportunity:

This internship call falls under a general equal opportunity scheme. Both the Greens/EFA Group and FYEG strive to promote gender balance, diversity and inclusion. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment based on mutual respect and to promoting active political participation of persons with disabilities and of disadvantaged groups. All applicants are encouraged to submit their application and to self-identify if they wish to, on either their cover letter or CV. In case of equal appreciation on competences and suitability for the position, preference will be given to applicants from disadvantaged groups. In any case responses will remain confidential within the human resource responsibles.

This full-time internship is foreseen for a period of 5 months from mid-February 2022 until mid-July 2022 (exact dates to be agreed upon). Working time is 35 hours per week with flexible working hours and occasional work in the evening and on week-ends. In addition to public holidays established within the European Parliament, the intern will have 2 days of holiday per month. The intern will also receive a monthly allowance of 1300 EUR.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s evolution, part of the internship may have to be performed remotely through teleworking, the intern will nonetheless be required to be based in Belgium for the period of the internship.
