On International Women´s Day, FYEG would like to highlight the persistent injustices that women face all over the world. We pledge our unwavering support to the struggle for the fulfilment of women´s rights and against patriarchal oppression everywhere around the world.
We strive for more gender equality and against suffocating gender roles on this international day. We want to expose the continued inequalities between the genders, the static roles that society imposes on us and the huge and mainly invisible problem of patriarchal violence against women. |

At the moment, this is the only one of the many official EU proposals which aims to expand citizens’ rights in Europe. Young Greens from every corner of Europe gathered in Switzerland last week to discuss the issue of digital rights at the annual FYEG Wintercamp. This year the event took place in the snowy Jura mountains and proved again to be an inspiring and pro-active meeting of young, green minds.

Young Europeans Greens have gone to great lengths to demonstrate their opposition to the recent Anti-Counterfeiting Treaty (ACTA). A group of around 80 young activists from all across Europe faced sub-zero temperatures as they spelled out their opposition to the Treaty, forming the words “NO ACTA” with their bodies in the snowy fields of Le Bémont, in Switzerland. The group has been meeting in this location all week to discuss the theme of Digital Rights, as part of the annual wintercamp event organised by the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG).
