During the action participants of the seminar “Sustainable Youth Energy” and members of Albanian Young Greens will creatively enact scenarios about energy efficiency. Information about renewable energy and its benefits for Albania and the region will also be distributed.
Marina Vlajic says: “realizing the importance of this issue, FYEG started a pan-European energy campaign. We call upon all young people to join us and fight for clean energy. Today, at the seminar in Albania, Young Greens are tackling the many problems of the energy sector in countries across the Balkan region and around Europe. For this purpose, 28 youths from across Europe and from Canada met to discuss, plan action and ensure that the voice of young people gets heard. This is why united action is needed and must start immediately.” Morana Starcevic says: “for years, CDN has supported cooperation amongst young people in Eastern Europe. We really appreciate the efforts of the Albanian Young Greens in organizing the first regional meeting of the young Greens in the Balkans. We hope that this action will motivate more young people to join the Green movement and future joint actions.” Representing the Albanian Young Greens, male spokesperson Luis Jazxhi says: “even for small Albania, it is time to use its renewable energy potential. Albania can become one of the leading renewable energy producers in the region, which will be a great opportunity for opening new green jobs and will give the chance for young people to work and get involved in a green sustainable future. Our Green Party is already putting effort in this initiative and we as young greens are supporting that process. We are pleased to be one of the cornerstones of Green movement.” We, the Albanian Young Greens in cooperation with our sister organizations from the region and across Europe are taking a stand for renewable energy, nature preservation and democratic decision making processes in this area. The era of coal and nuclear energy must come to an end; we must shift to renewable energy. A Green future is the only way. |
